Shining Stars Tutoring was established in 2017.
As a child I always had a special place in my heart for people with special needs. Therefore, my dream is to help as many students with learning disabilities as possible. I can accomplish this dream by utilizing the skills learned in college and on the job training in schools and in homes. At Shining Stars Tutoring we believe that every student can reach their maximum potential. We tutor with heart and passion. We look forward to working with these shining stars.

Ashley Hogan

I have a passion for providing top-quality service to each student. I have been in the educational industry for 12 years as an educational therapist, behavior interventionist, and instructional assistant in special education. I previously obtained my teaching credential in special education K-12.
I have a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. I have professional training in Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing Program for Cognitive Development, Comprehension & Thinking, Behavior Intervention Training, Educational Therapist Training, Universal Design for Learning Training, and Secondary Individual Transition Planning (ITP) Post-Secondary & Annual Goal Statements Training.
I offer a proven reputation, with a consistent history of exemplary performance reviews and recognition for service that exceeds the expectations of my job. I ensure every aspect of my work contributes to a positive experience. I act immediately to resolve problems, I listen attentively to students, and go beyond what is required to make students feel special. Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions.

Sources of learning materials to address a range of student learning issues in designated subject matter.
08.
Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation.

Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
10.
Offering feedback on progress to students’ parents and teachers where appropriate.
11.
Conduct conferences with parents and students to review progress and adjust academic plans.
12.
Create summer writing activities and select grade level reading books.
13.
Answer student questions related to the course content.
14.
Coordinates, organizes, and oversees the daily operations, activities, and services.
15.
Call families that have expressed interest in Shining Stars services and arrange for a conference to discuss student’s goals.
16.
Resolve technical or connectivity issues (Zoom, Skype & FaceTime).
17.
Online education platform management within programs such as Google and Microsoft applications.
